Happy Dancing & back working on another UFO ...

'Pooh's Seasons' is finally done! I met the deadline of last week. I'm so pleased with myself. Eldest princess, Miranda, wants to know if she can give it to her Pooh-loving host sister, Liisa (from her gap year exchange) who lives in Helsinki. I'm thinking about it. Perhaps for Liisa's first baby, but not just to send out of the blue. There has been too much effort put into the project for that.

Meanwhile, I'm looking for a framer. I won't post more 'Pooh' pics until that job is done. I got a bit of a shock that the local framer staples rather than laces the cross stitching projects he does ...

As you can see from the projects on the left, I've changed the order of my finish list. I'm now working on Design Works' 'Dreamcatchers'. I bought this kit when I was going through a self awareness phase ... 'you are the master of your own destiny' and such. I got so busy 'mastering' myself, I didn't have time for cross stitching for a while. What is the point of organising life so that you don't have time for the simple pleasures? Fuzzy logic of the era, I think.

I was going to go to the craft and quilt fair last week, but didn't. I don't want to buy more stash unless it enhances the ability to finish a project already in the pipeline. I'm planning to have this attitude for at least a year. Thankfully, that approach (better, methinx, than the idea of no craft/stash shopping until one has finished 50 projects - I'd never buy another thing!) allowed me to enjoy a splashout buying threads this morning at Spotlight's 20% off sale.

Happy stitching. I've got to get back to my finishes. I have a schedule. LOL

Congratulations on your finish and good luck finding a new framer!

I would never attempt the 50 project challenge either... I'd be going 10 years without new stash!

I hear ya, Faith Ann. What fun would cross stitch be if one couldn't enjoy the prospect of the next purchase? LOL

I agree with you Bliss, a project like Pooh deserves a special occasion.

Update on the 50 challenge. I hear that the number is arbitrary - it can be 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 - you promise yourself not to buy any new stash until you have done a number of projects. You must use what you have in your stash. If you need to get something to finish a project off that is OK.
There are lots of loop-holes too (LOL). Exchanges, or anything else you do on a regular basis are not included; neither is getting free charts off the net ... I have THOUSANDS of them!
Essentially a great idea if you don't cheat. Maybe I should make this a blog heading ... it's long enough.

I know what you mean. That's why I wanted to take a box of my favorites along to this desserted island. Even at that I thought I'd be cutting it close as I'm sure once there I'd be missing something.
There's another tag I'm supposed to answer - this time about music I'm listening to. Oh dear, here we go again. I'll be happy to tag you (lol) but am presently thinking about writing at the bottom that anyone interested in answering may consider themselves tagged. Good idea???
Hopefully that's the last of the tags as I think I've had it with all this thinking for the moment.

Ooooh music! I got one like that too. Music is how I got into the literature 'mess'. Went to uni to study piano and came out with a double degree in french literature. Haha. I couldn't answer the music tag. I've totally stopped listening in recent times. Weird considering that 2 of my off-spring are professional musicians and all 4 of my biological off-spring play 2 musical instruments each and do it well. Sad huh? Not enuff time at all.
