Pre-Christmas insanity

Yesterday, I told my DH & youngest DD that when I finish the current list of planned projects that I'm giving up cross stitching. Paul responded with a look that said 'Yeah, right!'. Gabriella smiled and asked 'Run out of wall space, huh?'.

I've hung my recently framed projects & - with wall space in mind - I've revamped my stitching list. Castle Bliss was never intended to be a shrine to my many cross stitch projects. I can visualise certain items on walls but not others, so unless they have another purpose from the outset (ie gifts to others), I'm not going to do all the projects that I originally thought I would.

This is not to say that I am giving up cross stitching next week or anything. The project list is about 5 years long. What it means is that in the next few weeks, I'm going to set up a stash sale page to get rid of culled bits and pieces. Be on the lookout for bargains!

Happiness & laughter always,

Bliss

You better not give up cross stitching, that would be a horrible thing to do!!!!!

I am looking foward to seeing what you might have for sale!!!!

well, I can certainly relate to not having enough wall space. You could try rotating some of your pictures out-especially if it is a holiday or seasonal themed item.

I love the "run out of wall space" comment. Lately I've been trying to think creatively of other ways to finish (flatfolds, pillows, stand-ups, putting on a sweatshirt with waste canvas, etc..) so that not everything ends up on the wall.

Who knows? By the time you finish your project list, your tastes may change and you'll have to stitch more! LOL

LOL - OK, you've all convinced me. The stash stays! 23yo son visited the other day & made comment on 'the cross stitch room'. He says we no longer have a 'guest bedroom'. From my experience, visitors sleep in the bed, not on the walls!

Speaking of rotations, here is the ultimate in rotations. This stitcher changes her rooms by the season. Hello! My walls had the same pics for 12 years. http://cyberphenicia.over-blog.com/article-4895400.html I'm inspired.
