Details...

Thanks for all the lovely compliments about my stitching. You readers are very encouraging!

Apart from one book on the bottom shelf, I've finished a lot of the big stuff. It's now time to go back and fill in the minutiae.

I think that this project would have been far better done on a larger count of fabric. It's supposed to be 14 count but I think it's 16 count. Hence, some of the details are lost. A pity.

Just as an aside ...

I've done enough gridding on projects to now know that you need to remove it before you begin the backstitching. Be wary of splitting the tacking threads! They come out quite easily if you take care.

You really are doing a great job.

Thank you for the tip about taking out the gridding before beginning to backstitch. I'm starting my first large project with gridding and it is good to know that in advance.

The details really make Frederick pop. I can't wait until mine has eye lids!

I've been removing my gridlines as I come to them. I must admit that the lines have really kept me on track, even after putting it down for an extended period of time. I'll definitely grid all future BAP.

Thanks for all the inspiration.

Fred looks fabulous and it looks like you are right on schedule for a 2007 finish.
I'm running a little behind you but did manage several hours yesterday and am confident I can manage that too.
Take care and have a good week.

It's coming right along! I admire anyone who stitches LARGE, detailed projects like this.

Fred is looking great! I haven't tried stitching on black. I have some black fabric, but now I'm a little scared to try! I get migraines so easily! Maybe I'll start with something VERY small! lol Have a great day!

Fred is looking really good. You have managed to do quite a bit. I have learnt the hard way about removing tacking threads as your stitching and not after it's all done.
