Two Celebrations!

and

February 14 is the 45th day of the year in the Gregorian calendar. There are 320 days remaining until the end of the year (321 in leap years).

February 14 is internationally known as Valentine's Day, a holiday celebrating love and affection between intimate companions. In 2010, it is also “Lunar New Year" or Chinese New Year, usually something big in my family owing to Han Chinese origins. Oh happy day to all of you, however you are celebrating it!

The MOTH & I are traditionalists. We went the romance pathway today. We swapped cards, a dozen roses and I cooked a feast of Kashmiri roast lamb followed by French cheese cake (a new recipe) for dessert (perhaps to get the Chinese New Year flavour, it should have been beans and meat and rice). We also did the romantic film bit –Notting Hill being the choice for this year. I’m seriously over-full tonight! Thankfully, Lent starts on Wednesday!

Happiness & laughter to one and all,

Felicity

Your romantic Valentine's Day sounds very much like ours will be. I got flowers last night and tonight we are having roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and mashed potatoes. Afterward for entertainment, we will finish the last of the Lord of The Rings. We are rewatching some of the great movies of past years.

Hugs,
Berta

We had a similar Valentine's Day, except Phill was the one who did the cooking - a lovely fillet steak. Happy Valentine's Day!
