Crochet Lessons

While in Brisbane to help organise The Crown Princesse's wedding scheduled for the 29th September, I also organised myself to go to 3 crochet lessons.

The law of crochet states that if you haven’t begun your crochet journey with a granny square, you haven’t begun.

The traditional granny was tweaked a little in this class and given new life as a vintage inspired cushion. I learned the basic stitches and techniques of crochet (chain, double, treble, and slip stitch), how to crochet in the round, follow a pattern, read a crochet symbols chart, finishing techniques and different options to stitch my project. Throughout the sessions, tips were given to assist me to go from ‘zero’ to a “happily hooking” novice in no time! Here is my end “result:”

Good for you...learning something new. My Mom is a crochet diva. It's the only craft she is really good at. She ahs taught me. My one and only completed project has been a mile a minute afghan. It consisted of 9 full rows and then I had to attach them together to make the afghan. Mile a minute my butt...lol!!

Your crocheting is beautiful! :) I don't know how to do the granny squares at all. I can only chain, single crochet and double crochet lol.
