New Project - By the Sea

Ok, so you have been wondering what distracted me from Fred. It's a project that I started plotting for in 1989. I used to collect 'Cross Stitch & Country Crafts' Magazines & I found a series of three samplers that I liked within.

I took from 1992 to 2004, or something like that, to finish the one above (my DD kindly told me yesterday that it was cos I didn't stitch much, but considering that she was barely 2 years old in 1991, she wouldn't know). Anyway, as a previous blog will tell you, last year I got that it framed. While I was at it, I got two other frames made for the rest of the series. I thought of it as buying same dye lots to spur me on - LOL.

Last week I got the guilts & I got the urge to start working on part 2 ... gotta have that stitching mojo, huh?

Here is the wall where I'm going to hang them. They are in the room that my DS has symbolically named 'The Cross Stitching Room'. I've purposefully not straightened the frames. That will come in due time (& probably after I paint again - oh gosh the nightmare of renovations).

And this is the progress so far. I've been stitching for 10 days. Not bad, huh? The gridding makes makes it much, much easier to stitch than the 'working from the centre' rule.

Happy stitching everyone!

Bliss

P.S. Don't ask me how long it took me to stitch 'Christmas Teddies on a Line'. Let me just say that I stitched both it and no 1 in the By the Sea series neck & neck.

You've made a nice start so far on number 2. I think they will look perfect in those frames.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Your stitching is lovely. The empty frames on the wall crack me up. But boy, that would inspire me to get some stitching done. You've made great progress on the piece you started just 10 days ago ;)

Very cute! Thats awesome progress for 10 days of work. I never have the patience to grid before I stitch. :)

Without the gridding, I'm not sure I could manage to finish this particular project at all ... too many detailed colour changes to start from the middle.

Everything's well in your world, Heidi?

I can't believe it!!!! I just received these three patterns from a stitching friend. Love them!! Wonderful progress on #2 and what a smart idea to have all three frames made now.

I used to love that magazine.
Great framing and stitching.Good idea to leave the frames on show, no forgetting then what you should be stitching.

Would you believe I thought I left a comment here on Monday. I must be suffering from you know what!!
Anyway - it was so fun to see that you are stitching these sweeties. I just received these patterns from a friend and think they are adorable. Smart move to get all three frames made at once.
Thanks for your email. Will reply later today.
